Fixers Club

Ufuk Emin Akengin, together with his friends Doğukan Güngör and Furkan Bakır, founded the Fixers Club with the aim of using his professional knowledge on 3D printers to generate social benefits. The initiative continues to work on the streets using recycling, upcycling, and different production techniques since 2015.

The team started to work with minor interventions on the streets such as placing three-dimensional flowerpots they designed on the telephone boxes. In 2020, they continued to work with collective production areas where participants can also get included in the public space such as the transformation project of Kalamış Park of 3,400 square meters. Starting with the aim of embracing the streets and improving the environment we live in, the Fixers Club has repaired 60 streets in different cities of Turkey with more than 1,000 volunteers with the motto of "to repair, to produce and to share".

The team, which continues to repair with collective production methods on streets, neighborhoods, and public spaces to democratize the repair, sharing, and production culture, also organizes training and workshops on production methods and 21st century skills.

The Fixers Club makes a huge difference in everyone’s life, from seven to seventy, in the public sphere, with the works emerging from the dreams of a group of friends who wanted to color the gray streets with their initiatives.
